The Rift - Limited Edition Print

"The Rift" was painted with black ink and aquarelles on 300gsm paper as part of the "Stacked:Japan"-series and the reproductions of this original artwork are limited to 27 (DinA3) printed editions, handsigned and numbered. (see pictures)

Motive
Deep within the city, a massive gap known as The Rift separates towering buildings that seem to rise endlessly into the sky. Suspended walkways and many bridges connect the structures, allowing people to move between districts high above the ground. Despite the dramatic scale of the canyon-like divide, daily life continues as residents travel, work, and gather throughout the vertical city. Sunlight reaches only parts of the rift during the day, creating shifting patterns of light and shadow that make the area one of the most unique sights in the city.

In Stacked: Japan I draw imaginary cityscapes that contrast traditional japanese architecture, futuristic buildings and technology that create a detailed micro-world with different areas to explore on your own.
I started this art series in late 2025 inspired by the contrast of traditional and modern japanese architecture that I could experience on a trip to Japan earlier this year.

This edition is printed with high quality ink on 250gsm high quality, structured Torchon paper and every print is handsigned, titled and signed by me.
